On Friday, June 5, Baltimore will experience Pie-topia when Pie Five Pizza Co. opens its 50(th) location at the corner of Governor Ritchie Highway and Ordnance Road. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. This will be the second location for the local franchise owner, Jeff Mengel and the fourth location in Maryland. Mengel will be giving half of all proceeds from preopening events during the week to The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland.

The unique Pie Five model allows patrons to top their pizzas any way they want for the low price of $6.99, cooked in 145 seconds in a custom-designed, state-of-the-art oven. By the time the guest arrives at the register, their hot, bubbly, pizza perfection is ready. And whether they select from one of Pie Five's specialty recipes or create their own, it's all the same great price. There are millions of possible pizza combinations Pie Five customers can create with four crusts (including artisan thin, classic pan, whole wheat grain Neapolitan and gluten-free), seven sauces and 28 fresh toppings. The cause is personal to Mengel, whose father-in-law was a lung-transplant recipient and was actively involved with the foundation.
